Martha Lou Wilson, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  Martha was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 12, 1936 to the late James and Virginia (Asbury) Gunn.  Martha was a welder with Crown Products on and off for 20 years, in addition to being a homemaker.  She loved children, and taking care of them.  In addition to her own children she often watched the neighborhood children and picked up many over the years.  She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary, and liked to make people feel special on their special days.  She had a green thumb and liked to garden.  She enjoyed going out to eat and had a big sweet tooth.  She loved giving hugs, the good heart-to-heart kind, and were the only kind she would accept.  She enjoyed traveling, usually to Florida or Gulf Shores or somewhere with water.  She liked going to Disney World with her grandkids.   She was a Jehovah's Witness, and a proud member of Christian Park.  She had a generous spirit and truly loved everyone.  She will be missed greatly.

Martha is survived by her husband, James Wilson; her children Jenny (Dr. Lee Henderson) Collier-Henderson; James (Patti) Collier, Donald (Debbie) Collier; Julie Howard; Marti (Glenn) Crouch; and Maynard Wilson; her siblings Judy (Bill) Wand; John (Vicki) Gunn; Nora Bennett; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and many many friends.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Collier for taking care of Martha through her illness.  

In addition to her parents James and Virginia Gunn, Martha is preceded in passing by her son Ernie "Lil E" Howard; and her siblings Loretta Spear, Sandy Spear, Robert Gunn, Bill Wand, Ed, Sully, Charles, Ethelene, Inis, and Walter Lee.  

Service for Martha will be 7:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the hour of service.
