Jack Edward Rooney

Jack Edward Rooney, 64, passed away on January 26, 2018 at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was born on November 10, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana to William and Billie Joy (Hunley) Rooney.                                                              

As the son of an Indiana Ironworker, Jack grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana.  After completing honorable military service in the US Army and receiving the “Patriot Award”, Jack attended Indiana State University and then entered graduate school at Northern Arizona University’s Master of Arts program.

After Graduate studies, Jack returned to Indiana to follow his passion and began his business career in film, television and music.

Jack was an accomplished pianist, vocalist, and music composer producing numerous alternative chart songs and albums. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. (ASCAP).  Jack was also a gifted tv & movie actor and producer of independent feature films.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Joy Rooney. 

Jack is survived by his father, William Rooney of Port Charlotte, FL; his sisters & brothers:  Linda (Tom) Hjertquist of Greeneville, TN; Deborah Wilson of Gilbert, AZ; Sylvana Jean (Dave) Gish of Chandler, AZ; William “Butch” Rooney of Dyer, IN; Valerie (Robert) Trueblood of Brunswick, GA; and Joe (Elizabeth) Rooney of Adairsville, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
