Daniel Joseph Serviss, 91, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on July 25, 2016.  Daniel was born on May 29, 1925 in Washington, DC, to the late Frederick and Abigail (McCarthy) Serviss. 

Daniel served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  While in the Air Force, Daniel served as a chaplain assistant, he earned both the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  He married Elizabeth (Betty) Englehart on September 6, 1958 in Terre Haute, IN.  Daniel worked as an offset and letterset Printing Pressman before retiring.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #437.

Daniel is survived by his children: Therese (Rick) Hukill, Gerald Serviss, Dorothy (Bill) Smith, Marie (Robert) Serviss Strong, Fred (Kathy) Serviss, Elizabeth (Robert) Parkhill, Timothy Serviss, Michael (Cynthia) Serviss, and Kathy (Eric) Wasson; twin sisters: Mary Ellen Serviss and Mary Elieen Pietron; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Daniel is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty.

Fr. Chris Wadelton will conduct A Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.  Family and Friends are welcome to visit from 4-8PM Thursday, July 28 at Fountain Square Cremation and Funeral Services.  Daniel will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery.
